Music Review: Adventure of Coldplay

Adventure of Coldplay
On November 27, the hit English rock band Coldplay released the music for their latest single, Adventure of a Lifetime. The song was originally released on November 6 as the lead single for their upcoming album, A Head Full of Dreams.

The official music video, directed by Matt Whitecross with help of motion capture expert, Andy Serkis, featured a group of chimps discovering the power of music. The group of chimpanzees are shown to be discovering a Beats Pill speaker under some leaves, and they begin to form a band the resembles the Coldplay band mates. The video ended by thanking everyone that contributed in the making of it and they dedicated the video to the people of Paris, where the video was brought to life.
Adventure of  a Lifetime

Adventure of a Lifetime can described as a disco-rock track with pop rock influences and revolving around a high-pitched guitar riff. Unlike their last album, Ghost Stories, which had a melancholy feel, the newest album is already receiving praise for the incredible vibrant disco-like style.

Respectively, Bianca Gracie and Robbie Daw of Idolater. com rated the song between a 7/10 and 8/10 and stated the song is “incredibly vibrant in an almost childlike, blissful way that gives an energetic rush” and that it is “the best Coldplay single in seven years”.

The video is currently up on Coldplay’s Youtube channel, and the song is available on Itunes for $1.99 where fans can also pre-order the album A Head Full of Dreams set to be released on December 4. The song and album are currently No. 2 on the hit Coldplay songs and albums list, following Paradise from the Mylo Xyloto album.

At the moment, Adventure of a Lifetime, is on constant rotation on the radio. The song immediately makes me want to dance and be in an upbeat mood. The song makes me think of Red Hot Chili Peppers comeback to music in 2011 with The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie. After the Red Hot Chili Peppers released their popular album, Stadium Arcadium, it took them five years to release an album that appealed to a different audience.

The Chili Peppers always had a psychedelic punk rock style of music, but The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie” had more funky pop feel. Similar to what's happening with Coldplay, they always had a romantic and melancholy feel, but their newest album will have a different feel.Their latest album will attract a new array of fans.
