Personal Rant: Starbucks Supports Animal Cruelty?

Starbucks Supports Animal Cruelty?

Well, look at that? Another Christmas controversy concerning Starbucks and people turning little things into something bigger than it is.

Just a month after Christian evangelists bashed the coffee giant, social media users freaked out over pictures of Starbucks cookies. The pictures of adorable polar bear shaped cookies wearing a cozy red scarf were shown on Twitter. They sound cute, right?

Until fans began to point out that the scarf actually looks like the polar bear’s slashed throat. One Twitter user posted,“First Starbucks doesn't support Christmas and now they encourage killing polar bears, smh”. Another tweeted “Not sure why Starbucks think Polar Bears with their throats slit are ‘christmassy’”.

A spokeswoman from Starbucks told a newspaper called the Daily News Saturday that the cookies are not sold in stores at the time, but are from December of 2010. Starbucks is constantly changing and designing more festive cookie decorations.

What I don't understand is the fact this product hasn't been sold since 2010, but some many people on now taking to Twitter to backlash Starbucks. I do see the slashed throat look and if the scarves were thicker they would look like that. In reality, this shows people love to make little things into so much bigger than it is. First people thought Starbucks was against Christmas for having red coffee cups, now they are promoting animal cruelty by using cookies. Come on people. Find something better to do with your time.

I wonder how PETA is going to feel after seeing these cookies?
